Smart Turbine controller

WINDTRUST will test control algorithms for maximizing the balance between energy production and machine life. A smarter controller will reduce fatigue loads and help in the detection, characterization and impact mitigation of faulty conditions. 

Smart Turbine controller

This will result in lower maintenance and replacement costs whilst increasing power production through better availability of the turbine.

The aim is to improve wind turbine reliability through the control SW by reducing the fatigue loading on various components, such as, the blades, drive-train, gearbox or tower, and reducing the number and length of stops for maintenance by shifting a fault/failure in time or even by avoided it.
