Wind energy is a key market for Scotland, having outstanding wind resources and a strong wind energy sector. The conference brought together key actors from this sector – from turbine producers, and researchers to energy grid operators and government representatives – and examined the Scottish policy framework and long-term perspective, financial considerations, grid access and planning.
Windtrust, represented by Greenovate! Europe and the University of Strathclyde, took part in the Exhibition, allowing for discussion of the project’s achievements with attendees, and the distribution of materials regarding project outcomes. Technologies that help to reduce the maintenance and operation costs of wind turbines will be key to the deployment of new wind farms, and therefore the Windtrust technologies raised a lot of interest from the stakeholder present at the event.
With the project due to end in August 2016, the conference was the last public event to take place during the project lifetime. For any more information about the Windtrust technologies, please explore the website or contact us.
Presentations from the event will be made available at the Scottish Renewables websites.
